But Corowa-Rutherglen's Ryan Garthwaite, who has played in a total of seven grand finals throughout his junior career, said there was something special about Sunday's TAC Cup grand final with the Murray Bushrangers.
“It's been a great year, it's good to finally get to the big one as a club,” he said.
“I've been able to play in a few few growing up, but this is definitely the biggest.”
Up against the talented Sandringham Dragons, who are on roll after making the grand final from fifth position on the ladder, Garthwaite said it had been important to maintain composure in the days leading up to the game.
“In my down time I'll think about who I'm likely to play on, try and stay mentally prepared,” he said.
“I don't want to overthink it though.
“I'll try and get myself into the zone on Saturday and be ready from the first bounce on Sunday.”
Garthwaite played two games for the UWS Giants in the NEAFL this season.
