Another week closer to summer, and another week where rain still dominates the fishing reports. Ah well, soon it will be 40 degrees in the shade and we will be wishing for more rain.

The streams and rivers still need to settle – when the weather will allow this to happen is anyone’s guess.
The only shining light is the Murray below Lake Hume, with reports of good yellowbelly from the wall down to the bridge on hard bodies and bait. There have also been reports of brown trout up to 4kg on Trans Ams, jackalls, white plastic shads and spillway specials immediately below the wall.
Dartmouth – has been the hottest area this week, with just about everyone getting good bags of trout while trolling. Flatlining on the surface with wigstons and a little deeper with McGrath divers and Bennett Merlins in the middle of the day certainly worked the best.
Lake Hume – is much the same as last week, with a few more yellowbelly being trolled up. Bait is still the best option out on the lake. Also, look for warmer areas to fish, in particular rock ledges when afternoon sun heats them up.
Eucumbene – is hot hot hot, either flatline trolling or using lead line with Cobras Wigstons or Sting lures. There’s been reports of the odd double-figure monster brown trout.
Blowering – is still worth a shot for yellas casting small hard bodies or plastics in shallows or off the bank in some areas.
