With up to 100 millimetres of rain forecast this week, chairman Michael Erdeljac is concerned several turf wickets may not have time to come up for the season opener on October 8.
“It all depends on what happens in the next four days,” Erdeljac said.
“Cricket Albury-Wodonga’s pennant committee has discussed the option of playing the first two games on hard wickets.
“I can’t remember it happening before.
“One hundred millimetres is a worry.”
The season will kick off with two Twenty20 rounds on October 8 and 15.
Officials released the draw on Monday with New City taking on Lavington, Tallangatta hosting Belvoir, Wodonga playing Wodonga Raiders, St Patrick’s meeting North Albury and East Albury doing battle with Albury in the opening round.
