Boys, 19, finished with two wins and a second at Winton to secure third spot with one round remaining.
“We just gradually got the car better over the course of the weekend,” Boys said.
“We have had an issue with the tyres graining which loses us a lot of pace.
“We changed a few things and it looks like we have got rid of it.
“The tyre life was great.
“In the last race I could have got Leanne (Tander) if we had a few more laps; the car is strong right to the end now.
“The car got better and better in every race so it’s been a really positive weekend for us.”
The final race of the series will be held at Phillip Island in November.
“I don’t really get nervous, except at the start,” he said.
“After that I’m just focused on the job that I need to do, keeping temperature in tyres.”
Tander leads the series.
