Six Wodonga Wolves will represent the state at the Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup next year.
The other two, Katelyn Russell and Sandhya Thapa, have been chosen for the under 14 girls Southern Cross program.
Remarkably, seven of the eight selected players are girls, something Wodonga representative co-ordinator Paul Green is counting as a huge win.
“It's tough to get selected in these teams, so to have four girls selected in the under 16 team alone is huge,” he said.
“This kind of result will only make us stronger.
“Basketball, particularly the women's game, is in great shape here for the next few years.”
Steph Gorman, Katelyn Russell, Sandhya Thapa, Wil Conway, Isabelle Delcour, Marney Gorman, Casey Ardern and Emily Russell were all selected.
