The four-time Olympian confirmed her impending motherhood on Twitter on Sunday afternoon.
“Hi everyone, thank you so much for the love,” Jackson tweeted.
“It's a very exciting time, such an unbelievable experience & so happy ur sharing with me xxx.”
Jackson, 35, could not be reached by The Border Mail, but her father Gary Jackson confirmed the news and said he was “very, very pleased with the whole thing”.
The baby’s gender is being kept secret, but asked if the child was likely to be a basketballer Mr Jackson said: “I suggest there might be a chance.”
Jackson retired in March after representing Australia for more than a decade and playing for clubs around the world.
Her baby, due in February, will be the third grandchild Mr Jackson and his wife Maree, who also played basketball for Australia.
Their other child, former Albury councillor Ross Jackson, is a father of two.
