Bill Brock is alleged to have assaulted more than a dozen victims over a decade.
His home was raided by police in May after he allegedly raped a teenage girl he had invited over for dinner.
Wodonga Magistrate's Court on Thursday heard there were 26 witnesses to the matter.
Some of the alleged victims are disabled, and some appeared in the Wodonga court for Thursday's hearing.
Magistrate John O’Callaghan said there were issues with the case that would need to be worked through during the hearing on December 22.
Most of the witnesses are female.
The court heard there could be social and cultural issues with them giving evidence.
