Only days after stitching up assistant-coach Tim Looby and former best and fairest winner Josh Chapman, the Saints have picked up the classy 28-year-old.
In a further development, Leigh Corcoran is now set to coach by himself after Brad Murray stepped down at the end of last season to concentrate on playing.
“We have probably taken a line with the signing of Tim Looby as an assistant that it pretty much covers a co-coach type role,” club president Michael Quirk said.
He’s a good ball user who will play a pretty significant role for us.

“We will have that extra experience out on the ground.
“The club will try and give Leigh a bit more support in the coaching box but we think we are pretty right with where we sit in that regard.
“Liam gives us that bit more experience which we have been looking for.”
Harrington played 65 matches for Ovens and Murray rival Wangaratta including the Magpies’ 51-point grand final victory over North Albury in 2007.
“Liam moved to town towards the end of last season which doesn’t happen too often for us these days,” Quirk said.
“It all fell into place really well.
“He’s a good ball user who will play a pretty significant role for us.
“Looby, Chapman and Harrington are all around the same age which gives us some more numbers in that bracket.”
Harrington has also played some outstanding football for home club Whorouly in recent seasons.
Myrtleford is shaping as the club most likely to challenge for a spot in the top-three after bowing out of the premiership race in this year’s elimination final.
Wodonga Raiders are also believed to be on the verge of announcing several key signings.
