An estimated 100 to 200 litres of fuel leaked from the vehicle, which was soaked up by absorbent material before it could reach the water.
The road was closed for several hours and re-opened about 7.30pm.
EARLIER: There is concern diesel may spill into Lake Hume after a truck rollover on the Murray Valley near Tallangatta on Wednesday afternoon.
A 61-year-old man was taken to hospital after his truck, carrying a load of hay, rolled about 5km west of Tallangatta just before 4pm.
Police and firefighters attended the scene, with the Environmental Protection Authority contacted after it was noticed diesel was leaking from the truck.
Traffic was reduced to one lane after the accident.
