Student teams from 13 secondary schools across North East Victoria and southern NSW spent five months building and fine-tuning their entries ahead of the Wilson Transformer event grand final at Transformer Park.
Once again the member for Benambra Bill Tilley took out the Community Champions race.
Co-organiser North East Local Learning and Employment Network Structured Workplace Learning coordinator Angela Pesavento said the event was an opportunity for Border students to get a taste of what it was like to work in the local manufacturing industry and to build networks.
“This is a fun, hands-on way for students to develop new skills, build new networks that might help them find careers in the future and gain an appreciation of the types of career opportunities that exist in their own communities,” she said.
