Craig Nolan will have the Camp Quality logo Giggles tattooed to his left foreman as part of a fundraiser for the children's cancer support service.
He aimed to raise $500 for a small icon, but decided to get a larger one when he reached $1000. The icon may grow further if he can add to his fundraising total by mid-morning Monday.
Craig's wife Lisette said Craig's motivation was simple.
"If he can take one hour's worth of pain to raise funds for the kids, that is nothing compared to what those kids go through," he said.
Wodonga born-and-bred Craig and Lisette have a blended family of nine children and two grandchildren, aged 7 and 4.
"We've got lots of kids of our own," Mrs Nolan said.
"We'd be devastated if anything happened to them.
"This is Craig's way to help out – we'd like to thank everybody who has donated already.
"Some people donated $50 and $100, which is phenomenal."
Mr Nolan will have has tattoo completed by Wodonga business Twin City Tattoo and Body Piercing on Monday at 10am.
It will feature the Giggles icon and the Camp Quality catchcry: Laughter is the best medicine.
