The system is flawed
Sound thinking Americans (now there is an oxymoron) must now seriously question their deeply flawed system of government exemplified by the present Presidential administration.

Such a system consists solely of ego, self-promotion and narcissism and is based on the false premise that one person (no matter how worthy) can “lead” the country and “make America great again”.
When America broke away from Britain probably out of spite, it abandoned the Westminster form of government we enjoy and embraced the idea of a President. What folly.
I am unable to bring to mind any Presidential forms of government throughout the world that are not the subject of graft, rorts ,misuse of power and extremist views.
I only hope that the editors of American newspapers will not be cowered but I suppose that those who voted for Mr Trump firstly do not read such periodicals and secondly, would vehemently disagree with the opinions voiced.
Any chance of a Presidential impeachment?

Rebellion against the left
I wonder if it could be possible that the swing to Donald Trump in America might be the start of a worldwide rebellion against the totalitarianism of the politically correct, who seem to spend their lives limiting the opportunity of people to speak their minds about differences in cultures, races, genders, and religions.
Just think: if the green/left dictators continue to dominate communication with their egregious outrage, sensible people might set up a series of private clubs within which members will be free to tell jokes and draw cartoons without fear. They might even turn the clock back to 1920s America, and call each of these clubs a “Speakeasy”.

More about point-scoring
We have serious problems in Australia with Government mismanagement, droughts, floods, a lack of infrastructure in regional and rural areas and jobs.
We do not need to persecute a few hundred people on bridging visas and 2000 refugees in Nauru and Papua New Guinea who arrived in Australia as victims of people smugglers.
The Coalition and Labor parties are more interested in political point-scoring than in ensuring that people smugglers are put out of and remain out of business.
The Coalition is seeking to introduce in federal parliament a Bill which purports to prevent the boat people forever from entering Australia. The current Australian Parliament cannot bind future governments.
The Labor Party opposes that Bill and has failed to make any suggestions as to how the problems can be resolved.
Surely the answer is for our Foreign Minister Julie Bishop to approach the Indonesian Government, to seek agreement that Australia and Indonesian Governments will ban any operations by people smugglers for a period of 10 years. Australia would immediately close down Nauru and Papua New Guinea establishments, and allow the refugees on bridging visas to re-settle in Australia.
Indonesia would accept and re-settle the residents currently in Nauru and Papua New Guinea, and would accept delivery of any boats and passengers returned to Indonesia by Australian Border Security.
Australia would take and re-settle 5000 additional legal refugees from United Nation camps in Indonesia over the next 10 years.

Rough old ride
I have driven over the Nullabor and all around Australia without a tough four-wheel-drive vehicle but after driving down Kerrs Road at Thurgoona, I think I need to get one.
Well done Albury Council.
