Knight, uncle of premiership defender Paul, was elected at the club’s annual general meeting on Thursday night.
He succeeds Nic Conway who served as president for three seasons.
Conway oversaw huge on-field change at Birallee Park with the Raiders going from easybeats to finalists under Daryn Cresswell.
Knight will bring business and football nous to the club after coaching Wodonga Demons in 1976.
Former Wodonga Raiders ruckman Brad Smith was also elected to the board.
Meanwhile, Albury’s Fletcher Carroll has joined VFL club Williamstown.
Carroll had a strong season with the Murray Bushrangers midfielder playing well in the TAC Cup grand final loss to Sandringham.
Former Ovens and Murray players Michael Gibbons and Josh Minogue also play with the Seagulls.
