Yackandandah claimed its sixth victory of its CAW District campaign against Eskdale on Saturday in what has been called its “most complete” team effort of the season.

Eskdale batted first, but were restricted to just 119 runs on a good batting wicket due to the consistency of the Yackandandah attack.
The Roos took their time with the chase, but safely passed the total with five wickets in hand after 36 overs.
“We are very happy with the result,” Yackandandah’s Aki Murthy said.
“We did really well with the ball because it was a flat deck and we were expecting Eskdale to put up a big score.”
Murthy gave up just nine runs from his six overs and picked up a wicket, while Andrew Lockett and Mick Walker bowled well to finish with two apiece.
“It was a very convincing performance as a team in all departments,” Murthy said.
“Having back-to-back great team performances in all departments is very encouraging.”
After losing two early wickets in the run chase, Aaryn Daniels scored 14 runs in an over to shift the momentum back in Yackandadah’s favour.
Daniels top-scored with 29 and was well supported by Bailey Glass (25) and Jack Hobbs (21).
Murthy spoke highly of Glass’ efforts so far this season.
“He’s been consistently performing with the bat and the ball and has been a surprise package for us,” Murthy said.
“He was a wicketkeeper last year, but this year was the first time he actually started bowling and he has been a trump card.”
The result puts the Roos a win clear of Eskdale and ties them with Baranduda in equal second position, as the competition heads into two-day mode next round.
“It’s going to be a very interesting story and we want to win every game from now on and try be top of the ladder before the finals start,” Murthy said.
“We’ve been playing very positive cricket and if we can transform that into two-day cricket we should put up some big scores and roll sides over cheaply.”
In the weekend’s other results, a well-compiled 33 from Wodonga recruit Andrew Hill wasn’t enough to see the Bulldogs over the line against Baranduda – falling 25 runs short of the Rangers’ 163.
Meanwhile, Kiewa (9-177) defeated Bethanga (131) by 46 runs to remain undefeated, Mount Beauty’s 9-199 was more than enough to beat Howlong who managed just 132 in reply, while Dederang chased down Barnawartha-Chiltern’s 9-118 in quick fashion, finishing at 6-120 after only 24 overs.
