Torey Hayes lost only three games in her second and third rubbers to see TAGS home by two games, while youngster Lara Wighton provided support.
An undefeated Jenny Wiltshire played superbly in Wodonga Tigers’ hard-fought victory over club-mates Larrikins.
Emily Price, Chris Mollison and Margaret Leddin also contributed, while Sandra Allen was a two-set winner for Larrikins.
In the remaining match, Forrest Hill reclaimed top spot with a five-sets-to-one triumph over Wodonga Dodgers.
Sally Bulle and Melissa Rhodes remained unbeaten.
In the men, the previously unbeaten St Patricks-Diggerville ran into a red-hot Forrest Hill Eagles, falling 4-2.
Cameron Scholz dominated, with support from Matthew Paull and Michael Reid.
Thurgoona Jets had the better of two close sets, toppling Wodonga Bulldogs 5-1.
Brock Dixon, Andrew Healy and Michael Gellie played well, while Lachlan Stein was best for Bulldogs.
Marcus Busch claimed the first rubber in an otherwise disappointing day for Forrest Hill Blues, falling to club-mates Galahs.
Seasoned veterans, Ken, Rodney and Graham Wurtz, performed strongly in the 5-1 win..
Zac Smith was in great touch in Sacred Heart’s 6-2 win over Wodonga Bushrangers in section two men.
A classy display from Forrest Hill Diggers, including Gary Graetz and Neil van der Geest, proved too much for Forrest Hill Blues.
SPD was clinical against Forrest Hill Wombats, with Dolen Vogel and Joel Schoff leading the way, while Albury was too good for Thurgoona Sharks.
The three ladies matches saw Uiver Park, Wodonga Diamonds and Glenly completely outplay SPD White, Forrest Hill and Scots Black respectively.
The clash between SPD Blue and Wodonga Eagles was one of three entertaining matches in section three men.
A three-set haul from Tom Grigg was key in Blue’s narrow five-game triumph.
Dominant first and final stanzas by Cyrus Andrews was pivotal in SPD Green’s six-game win over Scots Blue, while an unbeaten Reg Rafter steered Glenly Maroon home 4-2 over SPD Yellow.
In the ladies, Scots Blue and SPD Pink played out a thrilling draw.
Meanwhile on Sunday, Albury hosted 39 players in the latest Sportspower junior tournament, while 29 veterans contested their weekly event.

The next tournament on the North East Veterans calendar is at Tatura on Sunday.
