McKay took 18 scalps in last year’s BBL to finish as the competition’s leading wicket taker.
The Melbourne export said he can’t wait to get to the Border and showcase the game to the local fans.
“It's always nice go to the country towns because they don't get a lot of this sort of sporting calibre down there,” McKay said.
“It will be great for them and I know previously when I've played in the bush there has been fantastic crowds.”
Being on the Border, it is tipped there will be an even split of fans for both sides.
“I've always loved playing against the Melbourne Stars and we've had some success against them, especially last year,” McKay said.
“It's an early rematch of the final so it's great preparation for us going into this year's Big Bash.”
