Wisden’s inaugural women’s player of the year Lanning annihilated the Wellington Blaze attack on Wednesday, blasting an unbeaten 128 off 62 balls, while Inglis posted a half-century in the 204-run stand.
“I had the best seat in the house,” Inglis said.
“Meg just looks like she has so much time and can put the ball wherever she wants.”
Inglis might have found a new home in the Stars’ line-up, as it was her debut at opener.
“Really, I just gave the strike to Meg and watched on,” she laughed.
Lanning bolted home as the leading run-scorer in the inaugural WBBL last season with 560.
The Stars meet the Sydney Thunder in the season-opener on Saturday night, before the pair meet in the historic regional match at the Lavington Oval on Tuesday.
