The Wisconsin group, best known for its mosh-friendly song Blister in the Sun, joined the Hoodoo Gurus for A Day on the Green shows earlier this year.
The Whitlams, Tim Rogers and the Models will be support acts for the event at Wahgunyah’s All Saints Winery on March 18.
Violent Femmes bass guitarist Brian Ritchie said the concert line-up would ensure a lively gig.
“A Day on the Green defies belief by running the gamut of human emotion,” Ritchie said.
“The power of the Gurus, absurdity of the Femmes, pathos of The Whitlams, horniness of Tim Rogers and mystery of Models combine to remind us of everything that is good about humanity in this otherwise bleak time.”
Ritchie moved from New York to Hobart in 2008 and has worked on curating festivals for the Museum of Old and New Art also known as MONA.
Hoodoo Gurus, whose hits include What’s My Scene and 1000 Miles Away, previously headlined at the Border’s A Day in the Green in 2008.
The band drew an audience of 3500 to a concert that also featured Thirsty Merc, Diesel and Dallas Frasca.
A record crowd of 10,000 were drawn to the Hunter Valley winery show featuring Violent Femmes and Hoodoo Gurus in March.
Their A Day on the Green show in Queensland was also sold out.
Models performed at All Saints in 2011 alongside the JD Fortune-fronted INXS and The Baby Animals.
Tim Rogers joined his band You Am I at Wahgunyah in 2014, while The Whitlams lead singer Tim Freedman was on the bill in 2005.
Rogers is due to release a new solo album in 2017
The All Saints A Day on the Green is returning to its traditional February-March slot after having last been held in November 2015 to cater to then star turn John Farnham.
Tickets go on sale via ticketmaster.com.au from 10am Friday December 16.
They range between $169 for the platinum category and $99 for general admission.
