After yet another hugely-successful Sonny Downs Invitational event, Rutherglen Bowling Club is gearing up for a jam-packed week of action on the greens.

The club’s annual tournament schedule has attracted several bowlers, with many contesting all five events over the coming days.
“It’s a great social event as well as being a great bowling event,” tournament co-organiser John Fisher said.
“They have a day’s break in between, except the weekend events, so it gives players a chance to go sightseeing or do whatever other activities are happening.”
A mixed fours twilight event was played on Sunday with three games of ten ends.
Tuesday will be two-bowl triples for both men and women, while a mixed three-bowl pairs format has been adopted for Thursday.
Saturday’s triples tournament includes four games of 10 ends, while the massive schedule concludes next Sunday with a mixed fours event run in similar fashion to the Sonny Downs day.
