Carol Roadknight and Tania Maxwell have been campaigning to the government following the deaths of Karen Chetcuti and 11-year-old Zoe Buttigieg over the past 15 months.
Victims of Crime Commissioner Greg Davis this week called for child killers to be jailed for life, never to be released, and was supported by Shadow Attorney General John Pesutto.
“How many public voices have to be added to public calls for stronger sentences in Victoria before (Premier) Daniel Andrews finally accepts that our community wants stronger sentencing - particularly for horrific crimes like murder, particularly child murder,” Mr Pesutto said.
Ms Maxwell said their fight would continue.
“Sentencing does not require special consideration, it should be life with no parole,” she said.
Bowe Maddigan was sentenced in December to life in jail for the murder of young Wangaratta girl Zoe, but will be eligible for release on parole after 28 years.
