Players and parents of the Wodonga Tennis Centre will be treated to a memorable sporting experience including complimentary tickets and help with their transport expenses to the Open.
Wodonga Tennis Centre is one of 22 Victorian clubs that runs the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots program and was invited by ANZ to attend a day at the country’s world-class tennis tournament after showing its commitment of encouraging youngsters to pick up a racquet and play.
Club spokesman Craig Farrar is excited by the opportunity to reward 50 of its members with the Australian Open visit.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be heading to Australia’s home of tennis to see some of the world’s best,” he said.
“It’s not something you get to do every day; the entire club is overwhelmed by this gift from ANZ.”
Talking on behalf of ANZ, Carolyn Bendall, the organsation’s head of marketing in Australia, is delighted to be able to invite fans from all over Victoria for the world-class event.
“As a proud sponsor of the Australian Open and ANZ Tennis Hot Shots, we are committed to growing the sport of tennis across Australia, as well as within our local communities,” Bendall added.
ANZ Tennis Hot Shots is Tennis Australia’s official development program, specifically designed for primary school-aged children between five and 12 years of age with more than 200,000 participants.
