The two-day Camp Sydney Thunder is hosting youngsters from throughout the region, including one from Coleambally, which is 231km from Albury.
“We put the youngsters through skills sessions, and they also play Milo Blast games as well,” Cricket NSW’s Robbie Mackinlay said.
It’s part of the state governing body’s push to align with Big Bash League and Women’s Big Bash League T20 franchises.
The Thunder’s WBBL outfit played a match for competition points against the Melbourne Stars at the Lavington Oval, with the men’s outfits playing two practice games.
The event attracted more than 9½ thousand people, out-ranking the Australia-New Zealand ODI in Canberra the previous week.
NSW is divided into two with T20, the southern half comprising the Thunder.
