Lake Hume has been great for most fishos this week, with reports coming from all directions that the reddies are biting, although you have to be lucky to find the bigger fish.

Plenty of fishos are getting a feed of smaller fish, and it doesn’t seem to matter if you’re using yabbies, worms or tossing a blade about, once you find them, you’re in.
Try a plastic above to increase your catch rate. Lots of different ones work, although we found the little Atomic yabbies best.
Nigel Cox and I fished secret spot coded CR1 on Wednesday morning and brought home 70.
Of those, we had one at 40cm, two at 35cm, and probably another 10 at 25cm, with the rest just keepers.
In all we ended up with 5kg of beautiful fillets, and it doesn’t seem to matter which end of the lake you head to.
It also doesn’t seem to matter if you fish at trees or out in the open either, but stick between six and 10 metres for best results.
