The Farrer MP listed her travel costs in documents published online, but Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said the results of an inquiry, which determined if Ms Ley broke any rules before she was forced to step down from the ministry, would not be released.
The National Union of Students will hold protests in capital cities on March 22 in response to what it described as “the ongoing abuse of taxpayer funded entitlements going into the privileged pockets of parliamentarians”.
Union president Sophie Johnston said it was not right for the government to cut education funding because of a debt crisis, while politicians like Ms Ley spent taxpayer dollars on private benefits.
“I don't at all think it is fair that the travel of Ms Ley which led to her resignation will not be made public,” she told The Border Mail. “Her travel is paid by taxpayer-funded entitlements and the public has the right to know where and how their money is being spent.

Furthermore, cuts to social services have led to greater waiting times with Centrelink and it isn't uncommon for students to have their payments cut off without notice.”
Ms Ley resigned as Health Minister last week following public anger over her decision to take expensive charter flights to the Gold Coast.
Albury’s Father Peter Macleod-Miller said choosing a man in Greg Hunt as her replacement showed the Liberal Party’s segregation.
“The political demise of an outstanding female Health Minister while ‘the boys’ – who have been up to their neck in it – enjoy a succession of unlikely resurrections, looks like further injustice that will enrage rather than placate the public tiger,” he said.
