Regional Development Australia – Murray chief executive Gary Saliba said groups could apply now for community and infrastructure projects under the federal government fund.
“They’re looking for ideas to benefit the whole region,” Dr Saliba said.
Nationals Senator for Victoria Bridget McKenzie said the fund was dedicated as an investment in opportunities across rural, regional and remote Australia.
“The fund will give communities the opportunity to think outside the square and show us the types of investments they believe will strengthen their local community and create jobs,” she said.
“Flexible, creative thinking can be a winning formula to receive funding, providing clear objectives are mapped out that show benefits for the region.”
An information session will be held at the City of Wodonga Committee Room on January 31 from 10.30am until noon.
Applications close on February 28 for the infrastructure projects and March 31 for community investments.
