A dark-haired man wearing a Canterbury Bulldogs jersey with red and white shoes was captured on CCTV footage smashing an ATM at High Street’s ANZ bank about 3.45am on January 7.
It’s believed he threw two heavy rocks at the ATM, smashing its screen and causing a whopping $10,000 in damage.
But the security video showed the man could not break into it, and left empty-handed.
Constable Mick Richardson called on anyone in the Border community with any information about the incident to come forward.
“He got no money out of it, it was just a case of criminal damage,” Constable Richardson said.
“It’s not a common crime, it’s the first thing I’ve seen like it in my four years in Wodonga.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Constable Richardson at the station on (02) 6049 2600.
