Its predecessor installed in 2008 was removed on the same day as part of the clinic roof was temporarily removed for the delicate operation performed by Dunn's Twin City Cranes.
Regional Imaging regional manager Luke Fellows said the scanner, which cost more than $1 million, was a major investment for the clinic.
“Outstanding image quality will enable doctors to deliver improved diagnosis for multiple conditions, ensuring effective treatment plans can be put into place sooner," he said.
The scanner is built with advanced noise reduction technology and larger scanning tunnel.
