Six-year-old Elijah Delemontex tossed the coin for the Stars’ final home game against Sydney Sixers at the MCG on Saturday night.
The nephew of talented Wodonga Jack Craig, Elijah got the chance with the Stars after an an unfortunate accident during the Border Bash in December.
“He was playing cricket during the break and hurt himself,” Eljiah’s mother Renai Delemontex said.
“He was upset he got blood on his Melbourne Stars shirt, but the Stars mascot came over to see him and he got a new shirt.
“The Stars rang up to check how he was and then asked if he would like to toss the coin at the game.”
Elijah also got interviewed on the big screen during the warm-up.
When asked who his favourite Stars player was, Elijah responded with “Jack Craig and David Hussey”.
