Seven-year-old Mack can ski the scariest Falls Creek runs like a pro, but he would much rather spend his day at the resort working with Disabled Wintersports Australia.

His dad, Peter Hull, is the resort services co-ordinator and helps skiers of all abilities navigate the slopes.
The Mt Beauty father and son team are also avid adventurers – so it made sense to Mr Hull when Mack came up with a unique fundraising idea.
“When it was his first time going up Mt Bogong, he started talking a lot about the next tallest and we were talking about going up the top 10 in Victoria,” he said.
“Then, when he was doing his primary school walkathon, he said ‘Dad, with those mountains – can we get some sponsors and do it for Disabled Wintersports Australia?”
And so, ‘Mack’s 10 Peak Challenge’ was born.
“Over the last couple weeks, we’ve been to the top of three,” Mr Hull said.
“We’re planning out the rest between now and when winter comes in.
“We will finish with Mt Bogong, which will be a few hours’ walk and we’re hoping to get somebody with a disability involved.
“We’re getting up to around $700 pledged already.”
Mack wanted the money to help more disabled people enjoy a day at the snow.
“I’m hoping it’s going to more sit skis, but Dad’s not sure what it’s going to go to yet,” he said.
“They would be able to do more on their own – then they can get up chairlifts by themselves.”
Mack was confident he’d conquer all 10 peaks – which include Mt Feathertop, Mt Hotham and Mt McKay ranging from elevations of 1836 metres to 1986 metres.
“Mt Nelse was the trickiest,” he said.
“It was a lot of uphill getting up to the top and there was a lot single tracks.”
Mr Hull said he was blown away by his son’s pledge to raise money for Disabled Wintersports Australia and his ongoing commitment to helping disabled skiers.
“It can be confronting for kids, with amputees and men who can’t move their legs,” he said.
“No doubt it was a highlight for his winter last year.
“He’s grown up around snow, and now he wants to work with DWA.
“I’ve got a lot of pride in how he stepped up to help.”
