A stacked cast, featuring the likes of Magda Szubanski, Shane Jacobson, Julia Zemiro, Nicholas Hammond and Manu Fiedel, will visit the region for the Stephen Amis-directed film.
The plot revolves around Jacobson's character Darren 'Dazza’ Cook, a suburban barbecue enthusiast who accidentally gives his neighbours food poisoning during his regular Saturday barbecue, before entering an international barbecue competition with the help of a mysterious Scottish chef (Szubanski) in order to restore his credibility.
“We're delighted to support the team behind this production as they fire up The BBQ, which will bring film activity to Wodonga and Mitta,” Film Victoria CEO Jenni Tosi said.
