- Joe Lucas
“I wasn’t expecting to get called up,” Lucas said.
“I have only been back playing for two months after doing my knee in September so it was a bit of a surprise to be honest.
“I’m really looking forward to it.”
Lucas last played for Belvoir as a 16-year-old in second grade before moving to Melbourne.
He is the first Eagle to play Premier Cricket and joins former CAW players James McNeil, Liam Scammell, Steve Taylor and Joe Loorham in the top grade.
The pace bowler has spent the last three seasons with Greenvale after originally joining Northcote.
“It’s been going well,” Lucas said.
“A couple of years ago I felt like giving it up as I only took 10 wickets for the season and wasn’t enjoying it at all.”
Lucas has also played in England, taking 57 wickets in a season.
