They’re on the lookout for recruits who are looking to learn a few new skills – be it on land or sea.
“It’s an excellent stepping stone into the Navy,” training officer John Tants said.
“When cadets finish with us, they finish as mature young adults.”
Cadets undertake a variety of activities, but it’s on-water skills that take an obvious priority.
“We own a fleet of sailing boats, four boats and a catamaran,” Mr Tants said.
“We also own three powerboats.
“On top of sailing we also do weekend away at local bases, as well as a yearly trip to the main base down in Hastings.
“It’s the type of stuff that can really put you ahead of the pack later on if you join the Navy.”
