It was the first time the association has defended the cup on four successive occasions since the 1950s.
“It was awesome,” Tassell, 24, said.
“It’s about a 2-½ hour drive with the past two weeks being a bit of a struggle playing at Tallangatta.
“Holbrook had the match for all money so it was good to be able to take a few wickets to turn the match.”
It was Tassell’s second hat-trick after he achieved the same feat playing for Temora High as an 18-year-old.
“To do it in such a big game was the most pleasing thing,” Tassell said.
“I grew up with a lot of the Temora players so it meant a fair bit.”
Temora will hold the cup for the winter.
Holbrook’s Andrew Mackinlay made 76 as the association fell five runs short of Temora’s 121 runs.
