This year's Commercial Club Albury Gold Cup Carnival is on track to be a winning event in more ways than one.
The growth of the Commercial Club Albury Gold Cup Carnival during the past 10 years has seen a number of changes to the way racegoers enjoy the big event.
And according to Albury Racing Club chief executive John Miller, this has also provided many challenges for the racing club along the way.
“With big crowds came the need to bring in extra infrastructure and facilities to provide a comfortable experience,” Mr Miller said.
“It was one thing getting a big crowd to the track but another trying to ensure the customer experience was enjoyable and they wanted to return the following year.”
He said extra toilets, bars, food outlets, big screens and betting facilities were introduced and the main objective was “trying to get the basics right and making sure everyone had a good time”.
This year the carnival will deliver two days of top racing – on Sunday, March 19 and Friday, March 24.
Daryl Braithwaite has been confirmed as the headline act on gold cup day, March 24.
