A team of 22 competed in the Northern Country Region Track and Field Championships at Bendigo over the weekend with another 11 waiting to find out whether their times will book them a spot.

Mitchall Anderson, 15, was a stand-out with four gold medals from four events.
Jindera’s Talbot family – Mikayla, 9, Ashton, 12, and Ethan,13 - also brought home a swag of gold along with some region records.
Mikayla equalled the region record of 3.90m in the under 9 G long jump and Ethan broke the under 13 B 80m hurdles record.
Josh Furze, 14, took home gold in javelin, high jump and discus with a 34.19m throw.
Other athletes to automatically qualify for state include Maddy Anderson for discus, Scarlet Galvin for high jump and amp and Hannah Thornber for 200m.
Albury Little Athletics president Brett Schofield was pleased with the results.
“All the athletes gave their very best and I look forward to seeing them compete at the state championships in March,” he said.
The Northern Country Region is one of seven regions in the Little Athletics Victoria Association.
