Border would-be cheese makers can now learn the basics of making their own at Bonegilla Migrant Experience on March 5.

King Valley-based Anna-Kate Pizzini will host two, two-hour demonstrations in The Art of Cheese Making on the day. 

Having done her first cheese making course 15 years ago, Mrs Pizzini has been making cheese since.

“My early cheese making education came from my mum,” she said.

“I grew up on an isolated sheep and wheat farm in southern NSW and my mother/daughter weekends away largely consisted of cheese tasting.”

Mrs Pizzini said she wanted to help others get started making cheese.

She would make Taleggio, a washed rind Italian cheese.

“I’ll bring some to taste and people can take home a sample of what we make on the day,” she said.

The workshops run from 10am until noon and 1pm until 3pm.
