Josh Antone and Chris Seaton will go head-to-head at Wodonga’s Diamond Park on Saturday night for the first of three rounds of the sixth annual Skylift Hire and Rental Short Track Summer Series.
Antone and Seaton have been club members since they started racing at the age of four and have continued to battle as they’ve moved into the senior classes.
Off the track, they’re good friends, but once the helmet is on, it’s on for young and old.
However, the pair won’t have it all their own way as an impressive rider list, including multiple state and national champions, will be out to upstage the pair.
A strong contingent of local riders are also competing as the club’s continued growth sees member numbers steadily rise.
“This year's series is shaping up to be the biggest yet,” AWMCC President Shane Clare said.
“From something that started six years ago as a one-off club day under a few portable light towers, the event has now developed into a series of open meetings that are a major fixture on our club’s calendar.”
The club invites spectators to come along for an evening of entertainment, while the riders put on a great display of fast, bar-to-bar racing.
Gates open at 3pm and racing is from 6pm, with full canteen facilities available.
Entry is $15 for adults, $10 for pensioners, children 12-16 are $5, families $35, while children under 12 are free.
