Burrumbuttock currently has an eight point lead at the top of the table, but a loss combined with a big win for Rand against Walla could result in a last-minute switch.
The consequences are huge, with the minor premier earning a week off before hosting the grand final, while second and third meet in an elimination final.
Brocklesby’s Mitch Koschitzke knows it will be a tough task, but admitted it will be ideal to enter the finals with winning form.
“It will be nice to beat Burrum and hopefully knock off whoever we play in the finals the week after,” he said.
“We’ve had a couple of close ones and Burrum won a couple comfortably as well, but we have beaten them so there is confidence there.”
Koschitzke was pleased some of the team’s younger players found form with bat and ball last weekend.
He hopes a strong team effort will be on display for the upcoming fortnight.
