“We have a competition where the last five games all have a bearing on the finals,” CAW chairman Michael Erdeljac said.
“Eight sides have a chance of playing, and that is a little different to your major winter sports of soccer and football.”
Erdeljac answered criticism earlier this week from a number of coaches over the draw, which doesn’t cater for every team to play each other in both one and two-day matches.
Wodonga (89.33) leads from North Albury (83.66), Lavington (80.72), St Patrick’s (79.24), Belvoir (77.48) and East Albury (76.37).
Tallangatta (73.57) and Albury (70.39) are also there.
Albury tackles Belvoir, Lavington hosts Wodonga, Raiders face Tallangatta, New City meets East, while St Patrick’s play North.
