The tournament has been played in the small farming community west of Albury for more than 40 years at the conclusion of the Hume Country Tennis Association home-and-away season.
The local population is very small compared to when the tennis club was formed, but the sport remains vibrant and healthy, largely supported by members living in Albury and Wodonga, who enjoy the relaxed, but still very competitive, atmosphere of country tennis that the competition provides.
For Hume Tennis Association players competing in finals, it provides an opportunity for some solid tennis prior to their campaigns.
The tournament has men’s and ladies doubles sections for all grades.
Play starts at 9am, with cooked breakfast available from 8.30am, as well as lunch, drinks and afternoon tea during the day.
Entries close on Friday and can be submitted by contacting Greg White (0417 247 398) or Rita Star (02 6026 6178) or emailing shannarogers@bigpond.com.
