Nina McLuckie, 85, signed on to the skydiving day early in the piece – though it won’t be her first jump, having taken to the skies at 69.
“I have lost a daughter and a son through cancer, so I said, ‘If I can make money for this I shall do it’,” she said.
“I’ve got my daughter-in-law to come up from the bottom of Victoria and she’s never done it before.”
So far, 24 jumpers will be landing at Sarvass Park in Albury on Saturday – almost double last year’s numbers.
Their fundraising received a boost from the Rotary clubs of Albury North and Belvoir Wodonga, donating $1500 and $2000 respectively.
