Direct from London's West End, The World Of Musicals brings the best of musical theatre to life to Australian stages for the first time in March and April 2017.
The production brings the big theatre company songs from Les Miserable, The Lion King, Sister Act, We Will Rock You, Dirty Dancing, Mamma Mia, Jersey Boys, Cabaret, Wicked, Phantom Of The Opera, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Chicago, Evita, Singing In The Rain, Little Shop Of Horrors, Cats and more to the stage.
“We’re all going from The Lion King to Phantom of the Opera to Rocky Horror, it’s a whole journey with us,” Johanne says.
“The tour is specifically tailored to Australia and to the Australian audience.
“We’ve a few surprises. We have The Boy From Oz and I won’t give too much away but we’ve a surprise at the end of the show, specifically for you guys.”
The 10-member cast is packed with experience.
Scottish-born Johanne studied in London at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts and worked in London before touring north America with the cast of Celtic Nights – Spirit Of Freedom.
And she is looking forward to her trip to a warm Australia.
“I did one tour and got the bug,” Johanne says.
“There’s no doubt that I love being on stage and I love performing but for me the touring and the travelling is a bonus really.
“I love the experience and meeting new people and the culture of new countries.
“It’s the first time we’ve come to Australia with the show so we’re pretty excited about that, I’m really looking forward to a bit of sunshine.
“It’s always somewhere I’ve wanted to visit and we really get to visit on this tour because we’re travelling to so many places.”
The 30-show national tour opened on Wednesday, March 1, in Queensland and will perform at the Albury Entertainment Centre on Wednesday, March 22.
