As Brett Stonestreet remained in a stable condition in a Griffith hospital, his son Matthew Stonestreet, 29, faced court over inflicting the injuries in an alleged attack in the family home on Wednesday morning.
Matthew Stonestreet appeared in Griffith Local Court via video link on Thursday and had his matter adjourned until April 26.
He has not yet entered a plea and will remain behind bars until his next appearance.
Police were called to the home on Hillam Drive at 5.45am on Wednesday morning after they received a call regarding a concern for welfare.
Brett Stonestreet entered the bedroom of the home where it is alleged he was attacked by his son, who was armed with a knife, suffering multiple stab wounds.
News of the attack on the well-respected general manager was met with shock in the community.
