Harvey was on the Border for the Albury Tigers’ season launch on Friday afternoon and spoke very highly about the Border product’s credentials.
“Andrew Swallow was doing a fantastic job, but if they thought it was time for a change, I think Jack was the one that stood out,” Harvey said.
“I’ve already seen this pre-season that his leadership qualities are outstanding and he’s only going to get better.
“I think Jack’s biggest strength is that he leads by the way he plays.
He’ll be a great skipper for a long period of time.

“He’s aggressive and demanding of the other players, which is fantastic.
“He’ll be a great skipper for a long period of time.”
Harvey has moved into a mentoring role at his beloved club this season and still rates the Roos a strong chance of playing finals.
“They’ve got some fantastic players like Ziebell, (Ben) Cunnington, Swallow, (Lindsay) Thomas, (Jarrad) Waite and (Robbie) Tarrant, who should have been All Australian last year and won our club best and fairest.
“If they click well and play some consistent footy, hopefully they can sneak into the eight.”
