A missing inmate who escaped from Mannus Correctional Centre on Friday made it as far as Melbourne before his run came to an end after 25 hours of freedom.

Aaron Phillip Watson, 24, was last seen about 6pm Friday at the minimum-security correctional facility at Tumbarumba and was reported missing to police at 7.30am Saturday.
NSW Police had called for the public’s help to located the man described as being of Caucasian appearance, 180cm tall, 72kg, with a thin build, short, cropped, blonde hair and blue eyes.
He was last wearing prison greens.
They also notified Vctoria Police, who arrested Watson about 9.15pm on Canterbury Road, Vermont, and took him to Ringwood Police Station.
NSW Police will apply for his extradition on Monday.
