“It was April 1992 that Boys From The Bush was officially released on radio,” he said of the song which gained popularity among students at agricultural colleges, such as Dookie, and became an iconic Australian country anthem.
“It was born in Albury.
“I was living with mum and dad at their place on Dallinger Road back in the early 90s. It was written on the old piano that we did a hire purchase on from Palings in Dean Street in Albury back in the day.
Kernaghan’s Boys from the Bush 25th Anniversary Tour criss-crosses the country throughout the year and rolls into the Border on April 21.
The Albury concert will also feature The Wolfe Brothers, Christie Lamb and Kernaghan’s sister Tania.
“It’s going to be fantastic to have Tania out on the road with me,” the gracious Kernaghan said.
