Kathy O’Hara stayed patient on the three-year-old filly to run down No When To Hold Em in the dying stages of the race.

Coyle was delighted with the result.

“It was good. We took one down for Wagga about four years ago and had the favourite down there and ran third,” he said.

“It panned out sort of how we expected, the tempo was really solid and it was a nice patient ride, so we were able to catch them in the last furlong.

“We had one that was qualified for the bonus which I thought would have ran a nice race as well, but it did look like her (Siren’s Fury’s) race on paper coming back from the group three grade.

“Obviously we picked the right horse.”

It was the longest Siren’s Fury had ever travelled for a race, making the victory even more impressive, with Coyle rating it the best of her career to date.

“She is only a class one horse to be fair and she ran into a handy field there and did a good job,” he added.
