The competition favourites haven’t put a foot wrong so far this campaign and had the perfect preparation with a dominant display in the Angela Iannotta Cup this pre-season.
In other round two results, Cobram Roar went down at home to St Pats, 5-2.
Boomers were too strong for Wodonga Diamonds, 6-1.
Myrtleford also went down on its home deck to an impressive Albury United outfit, 4-1.
The ladder is: Albury City 6, Boomers 6, Albury United 6, St Pats 3, Wodonga Diamonds 3, Melrose 3, Myrtleford 3, Albury Hotspurs 3, Wangaratta City 3, Cobram Roar 0.
Next weekend Melrose hosts Albury United, Albury City heads to Cobram, Boomers take on St Pats and Wangaratta City meet Wodonga Diamonds, while Myrtleford and Albury Hotspurs both have byes.
