Dominant singles wins to Sebastian Davies and Lachlan Graham left Purple with the upper hand with one rubber to play.
However, an equally classy doubles result by Hafie Andrews and Luke Filliponi saw Orange force the draw.
Both sides will take some momentum into their respective semi finals next week, with Purple to play Albury Tigers, while Orange tackle Albury Junior Bunch.
In section one men, SPD and Forest Hill Galahs enjoyed a close match, with the former home by three games.
A strong singles display by Trey Murphy was the key.
An unbeaten Cameron Scholz failed to stop Forest Hill Eagles going down against Wodonga Bulldogs.
Graham Hawkins and Travis Leenerts claimed singles wins before combining in the doubles to seal victory.
Thurgoona Jets warmed up for their semi-final against Galahs with a win over Forest Hill Blues, who will play SPD on Saturday.
In the ladies, Wodonga Dodgers accounted for Thurgoona Slammers in straightforward fashion.
They will need to take strong form into their match against Forest Hill next week, who were convincing winners over Thurgoona Jade.
In the other match, Wodonga Larrikins defeated an inexperienced TAGS line-up.
Larrikins will take on Tigers in the semi-finals.
Albury finished strongly against Forest Hill Wombats in section two men.
Graham Barned, Rob Cabion, Paul Grover and Steve Smith combined well to take the points, 5-3.
Thurgoona Sharks had the upper hand in the tight moments against a gallant Forest Hill Blues outfit, completing a six sets, 49 games to two sets, 44 games salute.
Matthew Klopper, Ian Bester, Paul Craane and Dion Rowland all played a role in the victory.
Wodonga Bushrangers recovered from a slow start before going on to defeat SPD in a closely-fought match.
Bushrangers will play their semi against Forest Hill Wombats in Wodonga.
Brett Kohlhagen was the standout on court in Sacred Heart’s 6-2 triumph over Forest Hill Diggers.
Sacred Heart will take on Albury in the semi-finals.
In the ladies, SPD White finished with a victory against Uiver Park, 4-2.
Cate Miller led well alongside Tracey Parnell, Shellie Graham and Carol Mildren.
Glenly held off a challenge from Scots Black before completing a 5-1 victory.
They will match-up with Uiver Park on the weekend.
Top of the table Wodonga Diamonds completely outplayed Forest Hill and will play Scots Black next week.
In section three men’s action, Albury won 4-2 over Glenly Maroon.
Neil Smith, Graham Hughes, Mark Cowie and Ian Bull were all in fine touch.
The two sides will clash again in the semis, while Albury/East Albury takes on Sacred Heart.
In the ladies, Scots Silver bagged a 4-2 win over Scots Red.
Wodonga Aces will play Scots Silver in the semi-finals in Wodonga, while Scots Blue clash with SPD Pink.
Ethan Wenzke, Zach Sears and Charlie White powered home in their section five clash to down Albury 4-2.
The semi-finals will see Albury play Forest Hill Magpies and SPD White against Forest Hill Swans.
