It was family night in every sense at the Butter Factory Theatre on Tuesday when Tom Flanagan’s fabulous Kaput opened to a full house.

Kaput, part of HotHouse Theatre’s 2017’s season, is the story of one man – an old-time movie theatre operator – who disastrously puts his problem solving cap on to ensure the next screening goes ahead.
With modern nods to Rowan Atkinson and Aardman Animations, Kaput had the audience in stitches with clever silent-era slapstick.
Flanagan, a Flying Fruit Fly Circus graduate, is accompanied by equally engaging piano from John Thorn. Kaput is must see fun for any age.
Tuesday also marked the opening of Circus Rocks exhibition at Creators Artspace by the equally talented Abi Thompson – Flanagan’s mother.
Circus Rocks runs until April 14 while there’s eight Kaput performances including day and night sessions until Saturday, April 8.
